Poor Diet Linked To Anemia in Post Menopausal Women
As women get older, their bodies change. This is a fact that everyone is aware of. Menopause in itself is enough to go through without all of the other factors involved in the aging process. Now, there’s even more to worry about.
Results of a recent study show that poor eating habits in post menopausal women are directly linked to Anemia. A recent article in Bloomberg Businessweek delves into the findings. The nutrients, or lack thereof, associated with anemia in older woman were protein, folate, B-12, iron, viamin c, and red meat. The study also reported that taking a multivitamin did nothing to decrease the chances of anemia in this particular population.
As with most bad news, knowledge on the subject is the only way to prevent more cases from developing. Women need to know of this new danger and take precautions to avoid the consequences of poor eating habits. With the correct diet and regular check-ups, older women can thwart the imminent threat of anemia.
