What's IBM Doing at a #Mobile Conference, Anyway? - Page 2
Big Blue anticipated the enterprise need for mobile empowerment and built this solution for it.
According to Brill, the Sprint Velocity connected vehicle platform is a pioneering capability that enables automakers around the world to develop and market connected services for cars and passenger trucks. "IBM MobileFirst adds a significant new capability for Sprint Velocity," he continues, "enabling Sprint to proactively introduce a new and better experience for consumers that automakers can rapidly build into their cars." Leveraging IBM MobileFirst, Sprint enhanced the Sprint Velocity platform with the Sprint Velocity Service Bus, a communications architecture that lets smartphones, tablets and other devices communicate with a vehicle through the cloud.
The technology, set to be available for commercial use in January 2014, will allow a smartphone user to set auto references such as seat position, cabin temperature and radio stations, all to be stored in the cloud, and synched wirelessly every time the car is turned on.
That's Big Blue keeping your winter hands warm and pink.
