Social Annex Debuts Mobile Social Commerce Platform for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Tablet Devices
Social commerce platform Social Annex have been making waves this year. They have capitalized on their momentum this week with the release of a full suite of social tools for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and tablet devices.
The apps allow retailers to setup things like social sharing, social discovery, contests and refer-a-friend competitions via mobile devices. The company suggests that such social engagement with customers allows deeper customer engagement whilst also driving new leads for retailers.
“The functionality of social networks on mobile devices has been around for years but we are just now reaching the tipping point for eCommerce,” notes Al Lalani, Founder and Head Client Success for Social Annex. “More shoppers are beginning to actually complete transactions from phones and tablets and we wanted to be sure that our platform's experience could adapt to a mobile context."
To make it even easier for users to shop on mobile, the platform also allows for responsive design techniques to customize layouts so the content renders flexible images and fluid grids to fit the screen appropriately.
The mobile apps join the suite of social engagement products provided by Social Annex that attempt to help retailers build deeper engagement with customers via the medium of social media.
With companies as large as Facebook struggling to monetize their mobile users, this will be a key battleground for websites in the coming years. Indeed IBM CEO Ginni Rometty said in a speech over the weekend that mobile, along with social and big data, represented the main driver of transformation for businesses.
