OnLive Gaming Platform Coming to UK Through BT Partnership
Imagine having the latest games being streamed on demand straight to your HD displays over your broadband connection. Well, American users will soon get that experience on the 17th of June. However when will the rest of the world be able to experience Crysis without investing in a high end gaming rig? Hopefully sooner than we think.
BT has announced that it has acquired 2.6% percent of OnLive which gives them exclusive rights to bundle OnLive services with their broadband packages in the UK.
Onlive has been in the works for the past 8 years with its aim to replace dedicated game consoles. They have developed a special plug-in for your web browser which allows you to stream the latest games directly to your browser without the need for a expensive gaming PC. With a micro-console being launched soon, you will be able to play the game on your TV.
With a UK launched date and pricing still to be announced, all eyes are on how successfully the US launch is next month.
