Google Chrome Web Store Goes Live!
Google Chrome's web app store is now live and ready for your browsing pleasure. This is an entirely new internet browser experience.
Google describes a Web app as an "advanced interactive websites".
One of the more notable launch title app releases is for the New York Times website. Written in HTML5, the web app delivers a new sleek and customizable user experience.
The Chrome Web Store debuts several HTML5 web apps. Titles include " HTML5 Photo Editor by Aviary", " Hypem.com HTML5 player", and a very sleek-looking start page app, "My Jolicloud".
The store features the classic "Extensions" and "Themes" sections and adds a dedicated "App" section, as well as a new "Collections" section to feature sets of related apps.
The web apps sit prominently on each "New Tab" page in Google Chrome as large visually stunning icons.
As is often the case with Google, the Web Store made a sudden "out of the blue" appearance yesterday. The old extensions and themes-only website format is just as if it never was.
