Google and Nike: Looking to Pair Up?
Google and Nike are pairing, that is, with an upcoming shoes designed for Google co-founder Larry Page by Evan Steinberg, Google's community manager for Android and mobile. The shoes is going to be named Google x Nike Dunk Low.
The "geeky" shoes features Google colors, Google logo, and both a smiling photograph and signature of Google co-founder Sergey Brin.
The low-cut shoes presents a "techy-nerdy" unusual charm indeed. Nobody's sure exactly what Page thought about the shoes, but it seems he was happy to put his signature on them.
This is particularly interesting since Brin is well known for wearing Vibram Five Fingers, a pseudo barefoot shoe the Nike social media team hasn't been shy about confronting.
It is not clear yet at this time if Nike has a plan to mass produce the Google x Nike Dunk Low for public consumption.
The real question is, who will benefit more between these two companies if they ever decide to form a real partnership in the future? Your guess is as good as mine.
