Facebook Announcement Does Not Deliver - Page 2
I want to know what donut eating focus group told Mark Zuckerberg that video chat was the next big thing and desperately needed on Facebook? Could this group not also have mentioned the ability to have conference calls? What about watching videos from youtube within your call? These are two features that will be available to Google+ users from day one. Facebook is going into defensive mode, but their Atlantic Wall will not hold up. Sure they have a leg up on users, but the people love Google, and Google believes that if you(Google) build it, they will come.
There is one more feature that I would love to see, a mute button. Currently there is no mute button for either video or audio. This is a most a minor inconvenience, but is still a nice feature. When you get that private phone call during a video chat, you will either have to leave the room or end the chat. But, if you are looking for nothing more than a simple one-to-one video calling client, then Facebook is your man. Facebook video calling is easy, simple and user friendly.
When Mark Zuckerberg promised an 'awesome' new feature, everyone was hoping for a native iPad App or a new Facebook that utilizes HTML5, allowing iPad users more interactivey with the site. While video calling could prove to be ‘awesome’ in the future as more features are added on, Facebook video calling as currently constructed does not wow.
