Garmin Phone Coming to T-Mobile
At the risk of looking foolish, let me the following question: Anyone watch Celebrity Apprentice this season?
Not that I am, no, no, no. But I, uh, was changing channels the other night, passed by, and happened to notice that this year they've outfitted all the celebrities on the show with Garmin phones (or they were so tech-challenged that they were talking into GPS units). Which I'm sure served to remind Android fans of their disappointment last year when Garmin's nuvifone was released and it didn't run Android as had been rumored.
But all that disappointment will just be a distant memory soon:
T-Mobile announced today that they'll be they'll be offering the new Garminfone on the T-Mobile US network, and that they've got it exclusively.
Powered by Android, reports have new Garminfone spec'd out with a 3MP camera, 3.5" touch screen, and the usual goodies like WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G service.
Oh, and you can turn the bad boy sidewise and stick it to your windshield. Which you can also do with your normal phone using duct tape I suppose, but that would be incredibly stupid looking. And gummy.
Availability is reported to be later this Spring, but you can sign up for updates at the T-Mobile site.
