Eric Schmidt Steps Down As CEO of Google, Co-Founder Larry Page Steps In
As this came to a surprise to a lot of people in the tech community were probably just as surprised, as I was to hear that Google’s former CEO Eric Schmidt steps down as on April 4, 201.
According to Business Insider Eric Schmidt new role in the company will be Executive Chairman and he will focus more on customer and business relationships. Eric Schmidt explained in a blog post for him stepping down as CEO “ We have also agreed to clarify our individual roles so there’s clear responsibility and accountability at the top of the company.” Eric Schmidt also posted that” managing the business had become more complicated and Google wanted to speed up decision making.”
Google’s Co-Founder Larry Page will be taking over for Eric Schmidt as CEO. And Co-Founder Sergey Brin will have more involvement into the companies project strategies.
According to most, a possible reason for having Eric Schmidt step down as CEO was due to the Co-founders not wanting to deal with him.
