Hey there trend-chasers! Have you been driving your beat up Dodge truck chasing the latest weather trends only to stumble on an unfriendly tornado that lacks the common decency to introduce itself before it destroys your house and parks your ATV in a tree on the other side of town?

Last night there was a fairly large storm that rolled through Waterloo Region. I was able to spend two hours in the outskirts of KW “chasing” this storm. Click on the “Storm” icon to view the photos I took, including a short cellphone video of the cloud cover. Amazing stuff!

Michael, I can understand the ‘frustrations’ of organising meeting material and the time taken. I am pretty sure some appreciate them but don’t show it - others may be too ignorant to pass on such a simple word “Thanks”. As to weather, today was coooollllldddd. This morning killed my hands which is rare for me.

Lovely mild days continue this ‘winter’ with low 20s expected again today. I started this chase at 1:30 am. Yes. Since my sleeping schedule wasmessed up, I was pretty much up for good by that time. With a fullmoon out, I decided to do some moonlit landscape photos at MonumentRocks north of Scott City. By the time I got there around 4am, though,the moon was getting very low in the sky.

It was one of these regular summer storms. It would get so dark that it looked all blue-black outside, and lovely; and the rain would thrash along by so thick that the trees off a little ways looked dim and spider-webby; and here would come a blast of wind that would bend the trees down and turn up
