She explained how these Blue Jays were bothering the mother but she appeared to be holding her own. I never expected from her description that the bird would turn out to be a Mourning Dove!!! Ushuaia
http://chuckstull.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ ushuaia.htmlIn February, 2007 at the height of the southern summer, we flew a few thousand kilometers south from Montevideo to visit Ushuaia, "el fin del mundo" [The End of the World]. This Argentine city is further south than any other in South America. The end of the continent isn't abrupt; instead, the Beagle Channel runs through a series of mountainous islands.

Who Came First? Chicken Or The Gecko Cracked Wide Open!
http://smalltalkwitht.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ who-came-first-chicken-or-gecko-cr…This is no yolk. I usually crack my eggs into a separate glass bowl before mixing, scrambling, of baking, but I have to start looking for lizards now? How would a whole baby gecko get inside an uncracked egg? If you can't decipher how this Australian freak of survival of the fittest happened, read the article.

I have no idea what kind of tree it is.....do you? Below is a photo of the fallen blossoms. As you can see, they are star-shaped and pale lavender in color.

http://www.friday.com/ bbum/ 2008/ 05/ 17/ yellow-prickly-pear-opuntia-unknown-b…I have always had a soft spot for cactus. They are really quite remarkable plants, after all. A plant that has figured out a way to exist in some of the harshest climates on the planet while also producing massive growth. Even more impressive, cactus often produce just flat out stunning blooms.

The Longest Line
http://joefelso.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 18/ the-longest-line/I have a new philosophical question: when does the line to Starbucks begin? Teaching at a city school means students can leave the building during the day, and often we leave at the same time. If I suspect they’re headed where I am—the Starbucks across the street and down the block—is it rude to pass them well before we arrive? The line to Starbucks isn’t physical.

Fishin’s lousy!
http://montucky.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 17/ fishins-lousy/Today, as it so often happens on the opening day of trout fishing here in Montana, the fishin’ gods favored the fish. I visited three different streams and didn’t even wet a fly. But that’s OK with me!
