A Memoir Conundrum
http://randythomas.org/ 2008/ 05/ 17/ a-memoir-conundrum/I was in DC last week for a Pastor’s conference. It ended Friday around 2pm and our next meeting was really a birthday party at 6pm. In between I took a nap and then went to Barnes & Noble. While there I saw a book by Augusten Burroughs called A Wolf At The Table. I picked it up and read the jacket.

Being the Matriarch of a family - SUCKS!
http://amberfireinus.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 16/ being-the-matriarch-of-a-famil…One of the things that I have learned about being a part of a family is that the position of Matriarch really sucks. One would think that it would be cool to wield the power of the family and basically have things done as you wish at the end of the day, but it is so much more than that.

Grieving -- the pack says goodbye
http://miamattsson.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ mourning-family_16.htmlIt is not just we humans that are grieving, animals do too. It is not only two-legged creatures that need to attain "closure", the other animals in the family (pack) do too. Human funerals serve this purpose, as do wakes. They are as much a celebration of life, as they are a place for grieving the dead.

Greed….
http://amberfireinus.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 16/ greed/I can’t believe how death and money brings out the greed in people. The sense of entitlement to a person’s estate is beyond my comprehension. Just what is it that anyone ever did to earn the money of their parents, or grandparents? Why should they feel like it is their RIGHT to inherit anything?
