    Anyone Feel A Draft?

    http://takingonefortheteam.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 10/ anyone-feel-draft.html

Before things really kick into gear with the NHL season I thought I would take a moment to reflect on my two fantasy hockey drafts. I am in one of Sean's Going Five Hole head-to-head leagues as well as my own sponsored TOFTT roto league. Two very different leagues and two very different draft experiences as you will see.

PREGAME Greetings again folks. You are once again reading live from our office. We're sitting here munching on some Chipotle and watching the Rangers-Lightning game from Prague. Just a quick observation on Tampa Bay. If you thought the Penguins' power play was bad, the Lightning were using Mark Recchi and Jamie Heward on their power play.

The Pittsburgh Penguins spoke at length about their Stanley Cup Finals opponent and potential playoff adversary, the Detroit Red Wings, with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Bob Rossi, and one of the Penguins' newest recruits takes umbrage with the suggestion that Detroit's...

    UPDATED: PENS-JOKERIT AT 11:30 AM

    http://mondesishouse.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 10/ pens-jokerit-at-1130-am.html

Photo by Dan PotashWake up, Sid and MAF. The game's starting soon. In scheduling reminiscent of March Madness, the Penguins will take on Jokerit in Helsinki, Finland today at 11:30 EST. Unfortunately, there are no broadcasts available, so there's no point in skipping out of work in time for the opening face-off.

    Fantasy hockey overload

    http://blog.mlive.com/ snapshots/ 2008/ 10/ fantasy_hockey_overload.html

The Globe and Mail's Eric Duhatschek weighed in on the topic that is fantasy hockey today, predicting (without point totals) his top 200 scorers for the 08-09 season. Here are the Red Wings that made his list: October 1, Globe...

    Depth on defense

Sergei Gonchar and Ryan Whitney will both be on the shelf for quite a while. Fine. Nothing can be done about that now. So what do the Penguins have left in the cupboard? Plenty. When Ray Shero re-signed Mark Eaton back on July 1, many questioned the decision to bring back a player who spent much of his previous two seasons on injured reserve.

The CBC has posted a "backgrounder" to kick off its coverage of the 2008-2009 regular season, and its 12-team, non-inclusive preview focuses on teams that are both "on the rise" and teams that may fall off the NHL map this...
