    IBM has released data on it's new iDataPlex line of servers that are aimed at web services companies which need power on-demand for certain applications, but also need to watch power costs carefully. The new servers use liquid cooling which is much more efficient than traditional air conditioned and cooled units.

    IBM Launches New iDataPlex System April 23rd, 2008 IBM launched a new server, iDataPlex, to address the needs of companies using Web 2.0-style computing to operate data centers containing thousands of servers. IBM reports the iDataPlex eliminates the need for air conditioners and can run at room temperature via a liquid cooling wall on the back of the system.
