Good Grief

http://discerningtexan.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ good-grief.html
Sorry no links in this post; I feel compelled to opine here that the sight of the President of the United States grovelling to the Saudis--while our nation is sitting on a virtual ocean of oil, kind of makes me want to hurl. ...

Tremendous Loss for All of Us

    http://abusesanctuary.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ tremendous-loss-for-all-of-us.html

Any reader of this blog knows the brilliant writing of Kathy Krajco. I have used her writings her many times - and will do so in the future. She & I often traded emails as we both had being the child of a narcissist in common. Kathy had a common sense style of writing that was insightful and illuminating.

    Lucas Gone Round the Bend

    http://www.anwyn.com/ 2008/ 05/ 16/ lucas-gone-round-the-bend/

Well, all right, he was round the bend when Episode I was made, but now he’s so far gone I can’t even see him any more: Shia LeBeouf as the new Indy, with Harrison Ford coming back as the elder statesman a la Connery. “I haven’t even told Steven or Harrison this,” he said.

First we find out that Vitamin D is thought to prevent breast cancer. Then came today's news that breast cancer is more likely spread in women who are deficient in the sunshine vitamin (from the Globe and Mail): Women diagnosed with breast cancer are nearly twice as likely to have the disease

    Child

    http://mariacristina.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 16/ child/

Child, let me cup your face in my hands to sound your eyes let me say the words an injured fawn needs to hear let me tell you there is a lily in bloom behind your breastbone white petals flower from your lips when you share your grief let me open my palms to reflect the spinning lily essence of you ~*~ Written in response to paisley’s heartfelt poem, Freedom.

    Songs For Grief and Loss

    http://www.widowsquest.com/ songs-for-grief-and-loss/

Music is a huge part of my life - it cheers me up, it makes me sad, it makes me dance, it makes me relax. The words can be so powerful when you are grieving and going through a bereavement of someone close.

Jews Bring Food: Tips for Feeding Grieving Friends

    http://jcarrot.org/ jews-bring-food-tips-for-feeding-grieving-friends/

I’m an avid cook, but I think in the past three months I’ve probably made a total of four meals. Menu planning, grocery shopping, and cooking elaborate meals—all activities I love—have been out of the question since March, when my mother was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer.

    Greed….

    http://amberfireinus.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 16/ greed/

I can’t believe how death and money brings out the greed in people.  The sense of entitlement to a person’s estate is beyond my comprehension.  Just what is it that anyone ever did to earn the money of their parents, or grandparents?  Why should they feel like it is their RIGHT to inherit anything?

    Life after Denni

    http://fuswisdom.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ life-after-denni.html

Its just back to the three of us again. Its life after Denni. Its strange. Its weird . Denni's presence is very much felt in the house. Her ashes are still in the house. I couldnt bear the thought of scattering it in the sea yet. Strangely enough, I feel comforted by the fact that she is still in the house and is keeping her babies company.

    This Day In Doriot History

    http://jennyupthehill.com/ this-day-in-doriot-history/

This is from Gus’ Caringbridge site…this was just a few weeks before Gus died. You all will have to stick with me over the next little bit…I’ll be reminiscing a lot as we approach the second “Celebrate Gus Day” which is on May 31st. I am really, really missing this little guy.
