    … or, A Semantic Web for science? It’s clear that the million or so scientific articles published each year contain lots of science. Most of that science is accessible to scientists in the relevant discipline. Some may be accessible to interested amateurs.

    Each month I’m eagerly waiting for my copy of The Scientist to appear in my mail box, because the magazine runs a page on an idea, invention or object that has been significant in the history of 20C life sciences (a kind of nostalgia page for scientists — very sweet).

    In January of each year, Nucleic Acids Research (NAR) publishes a special issue on databases for molecular biology research. To be considered, databases have to be open access (they specifically mean browsable without a username, password or payment, although it is possible there are conditions).

    Brooklyn Musuem hosts "Crowd-Curated Exhibition" of Brooklyn Photos

    The Brooklyn museum is giving online users the ability to evaluate photos for an exhibition on the "Changing Face of Brooklyn". What's interesting is that they poll the evaluator's level of knowledge about art, and intend to compare the top photos of the 'novices' with those of the 'experts'.
