What in the name of heck…?
http://www.thechrisd.com/ blog/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ what-in-the-name-of-heckAlright, the past 12 hours really haven’t been nice for me. Unexplained site goings-down are not nice at all. When you first see an error (which in my case happened to be a 500 Internal Server Error), you’d think to yourself, "Oh it’s just a server hiccup, it’ll be back to normal in a bit".

Plugin list for Geek Marketing Zone
http://www.geek-marketing-zone.com/ ?p=37I’d love to hear from some blog experts about the plugin list I use for Geek-Marketing-Zone.com (aka GeekMarketingZone.com). Most of my plugins were installed by a webmaster, some I suggested, others he did. I would love to know if there are some I should swap out for better ones or if there are any that I should dump without replacement.

Wordpress Blog Optimization Tip of the Week – WP Cache
http://www.trafficteria.com/ 12/ wp-cache-plugin/First of all, I should tell you, most of my sites are on my own server along with some of my friends sites. About 6 or 7 months ago our server was grinding to a slow crawl. Between me and the server administrator, we tweaked out all the PHP, Apache, and MYSQL settings we could think of.

Problems Solved!
http://uncleseng.com/ 2008/ 04/ problems-solved/Well, with the automatic update plugin upgrading WordPress from 2.5 to 2.5.1, and the deactivation of WP Super Cache plugin, uncleseng.com is once again running smoothly. I’ve updated the plugin page so for those who are using 2.5.1 you can always refer to the plugins list.

Solving Wordpress error wp_cache_mutex.lock
http://www.pinoymoneytalk.com/ 2008/ 04/ 26/ wordpress-plugin-error/If you came here a few hours ago, you probably were not able to access the blog and instead were greeted by a Wordpress error on the front page. Here’s how I solved this wp_cache_mutex problem. Fortunately for me, the Wordpress plugin at fault was identified in the error.

Lighttpd and WP-Supercache? Now you can!
http://tempe.st/ 2008/ 04/ lighttpd-and-wp-supercache-now-you-can/It’s often said that if you can’t find something in Google it doesn’t exist, and when I couldn’t find a way to serve WP-Supercached pages via Lighttpd I was pretty sure no one had ever published on the net a solution to my problem.

Caching
http://phillsacre.me.uk/ 2008/ 04/ 24/ caching/I’ve added caching to this blog using the excellent WP-Super-Cache plugin for WordPress, after reading yesterday’s blog post by Jeff Atwood. I don’t know whether it will make much difference in terms of what you actually notice, but it will at least help out in the extremely unlikely event that this site gets a large number of hits.

Wordpress and CPU usage.
http://www.blackhatdigest.com/ online-tools/ wordpress-and-cpu-usage/A couple popular blogs put an article up today about wordpress and CPU usage. Now every forum I log into is talking about how horrible wordpress is. Well let’s think about what wordpress is doing for you: Every page load is being logged, it’s figuring out your permalinks, pulling up the associated
