Time, of course, is high on the wish list for any working mother: time for herself, time to sleep, time to work uninterrupted, time to play with her kids, time to get it all done. But since you can't really gift-wrap time, my husband found the next best thing to give me this year: a chance to find balance.

Last week was an interesting one for me. I had a couple of resume requests -- and realized that my resume was waaaaay out of date, not in terms of my current skills, projects, or achievements, but in terms of what I'm trying to do with my career. Turned out I didn't need to update it so much as I needed to revamp it.

Mother's Day! Did y'all have a good one? Me too! In fact, mine was surprisingly great, considering I had to work. Number One Son made a lovely breakfast; my whole family stopped by the pharmacy to say hello and bring me flowers; my lovely daughter and her boyfriend not only brought flowers, but they also brought me chocolate--good chocolate!

I’m not the only one who has noticed prices going up: gas, milk — even postage. I love eating out — with a glass of wine, too — just as much as you do. But my most memorable dates haven’t been expensive. As you know, I love to hike in the woods, on the trail. Picnics make me happy, too.

Eric has Scarlet Fever. He wasn't quite himself over the weekend, choosing to nap some and whine a lot. Wasn't particularly hungry either though he asked for snacks constantly. No fever. I've seen sicker. Though he was sporting a nice red rash all over. If this is Scarlet Fever then no biggie.
