Become a beekeeper July 25th, 2008 | Category: DIY It’s been all by the news for about six months now: there is a bee shortage. While that probably means catastrophic things for our planet in general terms, more specifically, it leaves us with a lack of honey for cooking and body care products,

Tote Trac: stealthy storage July 25th, 2008 | Category: Hardware During my altogether-too-infrequent decluttering rampages sessions, my first intuition is always to tuck miscellaneous junk and tools under or behind furniture to hide it all absent.

    Recumbent Bike Project

    http://toolmonger.com/ 2008/ 07/ 15/ recumbent-bike-project/

As Toolmonger cyclists probably already know, a recumbent bicycle offers several advantages over the normal upright sort, but they’re generally rather pricey. We’ve recently posted on tube bending, mitering, and welding, and this project requires all those new tools you wish you had an excuse to pick up.

    FRAMING FINISHED UP

    http://www.jeremywoodward.com/ blog/ ?p=94

I brought my pal Monica Shinn for a day of welding. She’s much better at upside down welds than I am.  All the framing is in, and I just need to get a deck plate in place to get the welds up top where you see the c clamps holding two connections together. Here’s Monica, triumphant, with beer.

    Welding progress

    http://www.jeremywoodward.com/ blog/ ?p=84

Been lax about posting, so there’s lots to show off.  Starting with pics from the 24 of April, here’s the rails that sit on the springs stood up on the deck plate.  It’s upside down. Then stopped that gazing at what might be and started welding up various frames Axle and tires waiting to be put into service.

    Questions about axle repair

    http://www.weldingweb.com/ showthread.php?t=20041&goto=newpost

I have a front axle from my F250 that has been damaged by a dry bearing. A new axle half will cost about $160 at the Ford dealer. I'd like to try to repair the old one. In the picture, the shiny spot with the gap under the ruler is worn about .035". I'd like to build up by welding, then turn it down on a lathe.
