Earsplitting Volume
http://asteeg.net/ 2008/ earsplitting-volume/Even though I have an iPod touch, I’m not one of those people you see in public places especially in public utility vehicles and malls with their earphones on and listening to music. I love my ears and I don’t want to be deaf and use hearing aids. The volume on my iPod is currently set on 25%.

Local Pastor Endorses Joel Osteen
http://thedissidentblog.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 16/ local-pastor-endorses-joel-…Tonight, I went to the website of a local church to see what was new and if I could see a picture or something of a friend I haven’t seen in a while who attends the church. I eventually stumbled across the “lead” pastor’s blog (that can be found here), in which an entry entitled “Significant Church” endorses Joel Osteen.

What Viola Said
http://www.gamechangers.com/ index.html/ ?p=426What Viola Said May 16th, 2008 | Comments » Viola Spolin is the godmother of modern improv. Her landmark development — with her mentor, Neva Boyd — of ‘theater games’ during the height of the Great Depression in the 1930s laid the foundation for everything that has happened with improvisation in the 80+ years since, including the theories and practices of GameChangers.

The writer, Emily Young and the photographer, Roger Darrigrand are the nicest people you would ever want to interview you.

The Palmeran Violet
http://lapalmaisland.sheilacrosby.com/ 2008/ 05/ palmeran-violet.htmlThis is the Palmeran Violet, Viola palmensis. It only grows on La Palma, above 1,900 m. (There's a similar violet on Tenerife, but it has smaller flowers). It used to be rare, but the island government has a program of replanting areas.

Going up in the World
http://sheilacrosby.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ going-up-in-world.htmlThe Palmeran violet, Viola palmensis Today the whole family wound up at 2,400 m. My husband works up there, at the Galileo telescope. My son had a school trip, helping to plant out native flora, like the violet above. The island government's been doing this for a while, and the results are really starting to show.
