I have lots of friends that are Latin here at school. And I’ve been bragging for the past year about the Tres Leches Cake I used to make for Jules. Once Alex donated a bottle of cajeta to the cause, I finally lived up to my big mouth.

Only 17 more days of work! If you haven't guessed, I'm a teacher and work is almost over for the summer. For those of you nay-sayers out there who think teachers don't need a summer break, well don't get me started! I for one know that if I didn't have a summer break, I'd go insane.

So this past weekend was the monthly kinky get together. This month had special significance as that the lovely Hannah is heading out of our fair state to the glorious Pacific NW. We'll miss her wonderful energy, love and yummy food! Among other things. A grillin' was planned by G&G and we offered to bring a dessert.

I went to this little bakery on Barranca in Irvine, to see what they had for me after lunch. This is the third or fourth time I visit the store, so I’ve tried quite a few of their desserts, I decided to take some pictures this time.

Yesterday was The Big Day. The B-Day. This was the first year for as long as I can remember that I did not have some sort of elaborate, one-of-a-kind, stay-out’til-the -sun-comes-up-the-next-day- while-eating-BLTs-at-the- local-diner-on-the-corner kind of birthday parties. I love birthdays.

My Nana and I used to have the most hilarious conversations about my sex life. Usually these conversations took place in her kitchen, which is why I can't look at a carrot without thinking of Nana's comedic demonstration of impotence. We were quite a death-defying act in the kitchen: Nana with her swinging knife and I with my almost burning down the house.
