TidalTV, Inc., a new online service which offers free access to programming from television and the web, has added to its growing specialty content Spanish language international news from Agence France-Presse (AFP). TidalTV programming from AFP serves over 31 million Spanish speakers in the US.

Do Television Shows Need TV?

Free to view web based TV sites are popping up all over the place, with the best so far (in my opinion) being Hulu.com. While listening to one of my favorite podcast, I heard about another such site called Tidaltv.com. Like Hulu, this site have a variety of television shows that you can view for free.

Companies like Hulu and TidalTV have been expanding the adoption rate of long form content online, however Frank N. Magid Associates, a research analyst, and Metacafe released a survey revealing consumer behavior and preferences in online video viewing that shows that short form content is viewed more than long form.

By Garrison Fairfield We all knew this was coming, this afternoon TidalTV launched their beta website, which they are touting as a true competitor to Hulu.com.  At first glance I was disappointed with the site’s set up, the homepage is set up just like your TV cable guide, complete with a timelined interface.  This was my least favorite part of the user experience.

We've been busy covering the releases of several new web browsers, updates to several operating systems, and we've been continuing our never-ending quest to find as many ways as humanly possible to waste time while using a computer.

So, TidalTV is a site that has been in beta for a while and seems to be up and running for any and all to check out. It is, in it’s simplest form, just another site to watch web videos, except TidalTV has licensed some actual live streams of cable TV including stuff from FoodNetwork, AP and others.
