Seems like only yesterday my daughter was a baby, crawling around the house. And just a figurative week before that, I was in college, hanging by the keg, sporting a toga. Ah, memories… (cue the needle skipping over an LP record) In less than two years, my little girl goes to college! Like a good dad should, I’ve been taking my daughter on college campus tours.

Last week was rough for me. Two female friends had to cancel on me for different reasons, and some important non-events at work let me down. What’s a dad to do? Why, get a big hug from his wife, with a reminder that there’s plenty in life to be happy and grateful for. Um, except for one thing.

As the economy has been crumbling down around us and houses are being foreclosed on in the blink of an eye-we’re all struggling to come to grips with our futures and those of our children.  But what I’ve found incredibly telling is that– this bail-out package which is being passed in Congress-
