You probably already know that Tim Burton is directing Alice in Wonderland for Disney, and you most likely wouldn’t be terribly surprised to learn that Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are attached (as the Mad Hatter and Red Queen, respectively). Now Burton has found his White Queen, and it’s Rachel Getting Married star Anne Hathaway.

The success of Blake Shelton’s latest single prompted his label to announce a Nov. 18 rush-release date for his next album, Startin’ Fires. The album borrows it’s title from the song “Good at Startin’ Fires.” Fans might think the song is for his girlfriend, Miranda Lambert, and Shelton says those thoughts wouldn’t be unfounded.

News 7 in Boston reports that Boston University students living in a dorm at 575 Commonwealth Avenue have been complaining about bed bug bites, and bed bugs have been found. The school did not release the number of infested rooms, nor how many students complained about the issue.

The first Philly Oktoberfest yesterday clearly did not draw the crowd–not nearly the crowd–that the organizers had hoped it would. A lot of that, I suspect, had to do with starting late and then holding it on a weekend when there were considerable beer events of various sorts already scheduled.
