Black, white and shades of gray. Stark angular staging, flat wood beams piercing upward like stakes. The costuming, puritan black and white, faded browns and tans. The only curves, the only gentle shaping are those on the bed frame of a child in a trance.

As this is a time for ghosts, witches and all things creepy I thought I'd share a blurb from my latest work. A time-travel romance that takes place in the present - preceding 20 years and 1672-92 Salem.

" A needle is such a small, brittle thing. It is easily broken. It can hold but one fragile thread. But if the needle is sharp, it can pierce the coarsest cloth. Ply the needle in and out of a canvas and with a great length of thread one can make a sail to move a ship across the ocean.

It has been known for years that Salem, home of the infamous witch trials, has become a mecca for Halloween revelers and modern Pagans (who purportedly make up 10% of the local population). But I think outside observers might be surprised to see how this witchy tourist draw has grown to Mardi Gras proportions.

Does anyone know of some good books (fiction or nonfiction, but preferably fiction) concerning the Salem witch trials? I've got The Witch of Blackbird Bond, which I'm about to read, but this subject intrigues me and any other suggestions would be most welcome.Thank you...!

As we get closer to Halloween, Witch-themed media becomes a more and more popular subject for television programmers. We already know about the upcoming Salem-themed episode of "Opportunity Knocks" featuring Laurie "Official Witch of Salem" Cabot, but now cable television will be getting into the act.
