    Fewer Lead Recalls This Year

    http://safemama.com/ 2008/ 11/ 20/ fewer-lead-recalls-this-year/

No doubt that last year was the year of the “toy recall.”  Everywhere you looked there was another toy being recalled for one reason or another, but one of the big offenders was lead.  It was really overwhelming for just about every parent you talked to.   When was the madness going to end?

    http://babble.com/ CS/ blogs/ droolicious/ archive/ 2008/ 11/ 19/ us-cpsc-holida…

Not to seem xenophobic or anything, but it seems fair to assume that the more incoherent a toy's packaging is, the more likely that toy is to end up on the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's Toy Hazard Recalls site.

It may look cute and cuddly. It may seem like the perfect gift for the biggest Pooh fan in your family. But, did you know this toy is actually dangerous and is on this year's W.A.T.C.H. (World Against Toys Causing Harm) list? It turns out, this toy is a choking hazard.

Another Melissa and Doug Recalled Toy IN MY HOUSE!

    http://www.non-toxickids.net/ 2008/ 11/ another-melissa-and-doug-recalled-toy.ht…

I am frustrated. VERY. I just wrote yesterday's post about our happy little wooden train contaning barium. Helping To Make Safe Toy Shopping Easier This Christmas

    http://www.safbaby.com/ helping-to-make-safe-toy-shopping-easier-this-christmas

“I’m writing about the challenge of finding safe toys for Christmas. Have you found it’s any easier to find safe toys, now that Congress passed the CPSC law? It doesn’t take effect until February, so I’m wondering if parents can shop with confidence, or if they still have to be careful, checking out each individual toy?” Wow!
