In the Andes, the cantinas are where most of the local people (poor and rich) meet every day. They are the places most commonly enjoyed after a long day of work. In days near big festivities, the bars are filled up with frequent cantina patrons who don’t leave for days.

Every weekend in the plaza of the community, many vendors from and out of town set-up their booth to sell their products. Local sellers bring their products as corn, or products as milk and cheese to sell it or exchange (trueque). We can also see farmers bringing their animals to sell them.

In the Andes, the young members have a very important role in their homes. They take their animals to the highlands of their communities to take care of them. Sometimes their journeys are longer since they have to look for a good field.
