After reading Mike’s post on alternative search engine Addict-o-matic, I tried it out and liked the interface quite a bit. It’s a good way to get a blast of different kinds of search results on one scannable page. I’m adding it to my list of favorite alternative search engines to use.

We’ve all been searching the Internet in a similar way for the past few years, and modern search engines can give us powerful results when we just type in a few words. Even though there may be billions of Web pages out there, these engines can usually help us find exactly what we’re looking for in a fraction of a second.

This incessant need of mine to know all the names of all the trees and flowers is still ongoing. I was looking for a particular tree name on the web yesterday and I came across Ten Thousand Trees. Gorgeous images of trees. Look at some of the older posts and check out the Ginkgo Tree avenue. Just gorgeous.

You know that are many search engines available for you, but most of them have the same style, what I want to mean is that the way of search and the design are the same, static and textual. So, today I found another alternative to conventional search engines, of course this not replace Google, RedZee

RedZee, a Tampa, Florida-based startup, tries to take advantage the old proverb "a picture is worth a thousand words" by displaying a single still thumbnail image preview of a search result in the place of the usual text based result - calling it Search 2.0.
