The Fall — There’s a Ghost in My House
http://www.imheavyduty.com/ 2008/ 05/ 15/ the-fall-theres-a-ghost-in-my-house/This version of The Fall’s “There’s a Ghost in My House” (1987) has a hologram on the cover. It wasn’t easy to get a pic that clearly showed the hologram, but you’re worth it. It’s kept in a paper bag because holograms, like old color photographs, fade when they are exposed to light.

Coldcut — Stop This Crazy Thing
http://www.imheavyduty.com/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ coldcut-stop-this-crazy-thing/Welcome to the singles club. At least that’s what I think I’ll be posting all week. This one is a 12 inch of “Stop This Crazy Thing” (1988) by Coldcut. It’s probably the best dance single ever recorded. If you disagree with that I’d love to hear what you think is better.

Ghosts? Please Believe It
http://www.microwavemansion.com/ 2008/ 05/ ghosts-please-believe-it/Well Tyrone Shoelaces was plumb dumbfounded by the coincidence of literally stumbling into a resident parapsychologist just moments after a possible ghost-sighting. I’d read about such anomalous coincidences in my Charles Fort books, but an anomalous coincidence involving an anomalous doctor? That’s double-Fortean if you ask The ‘Laces.

Oh well.....Life goes on
http://manninglewisstudios.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ oh-welllife-goes-on.htmlAs my dad used to say. Life is getting back to normal a little more everyday. Tonight we have an artist's meeting at the new studio. This will be my first full week back at work. We'll see if I make it thru the whole week. Last week we took off Thursday-Saturday to get the house clean and put my dad's record collection away in one of the bedrooms.

Michael Jackson — Limited Edition 9 Singles Pack (red vinyl)
http://www.imheavyduty.com/ 2008/ 05/ 02/ michael-jackson-limited-edition-9-sing…Nine singles, 18 songs on 18 sides, did I play them all? Damn straight. See the complete track listings below. I won’t comment on Michael Jackson himself other to say that the song titles visible in this picture pretty much sum up his life. Everyone has their own definition of “enough.” This package came out in 1983.

Radiohead — Kid A
http://www.imheavyduty.com/ 2008/ 05/ 01/ radiohead-kid-a/Radiohead fans raise your hands. I guess I’m a fan, but it’s an intermittent relationship at best. Maybe you hard core folks can comment on what makes Radiohead so great. I bought their first album, Pablo Honey when it first came out, and let’s be honest, it was pretty inconsistent.

Led Zeppelin — Led Zeppelin
http://www.imheavyduty.com/ 2008/ 04/ 30/ led-zeppelin-led-zeppelin/Long time no listen. “Good Times Bad Times,” the first song on the first Led Zeppelin album, is probably my favorite of all their music. When I see how young the guys look on the back it’s even more impressive how out there this record is.
