Larry Johnson on John Edwards Endorsing Senator ‘Hope’….

Larry Johnson on John Edwards Endorsing Senator ‘Hope’…. May 14, 2008 Larry has an interesting theory about what was really  up with JRE’s rather oddly timed endorsement of Barry. Here ya go: ‘Barack’s loss in West Virginia is unprecedented in a presidential primary. A 47 point spread? Are you kidding me.

‘Been Keeping My Mouth Shut’ since I felt what was happening would be obvious to most….. May 14, 2008 But guess what? It’s not. People, that’s people who say they are ‘progressive’ or liberal, have been expressing the most ignorant ideas about what’s going on in this Dem Primary.

Graham Greene and the Sinner’s Prayer

    http://merchristianity.com/ 2008/ 05/ 15/ graham-greene-and-the-sinners-prayer/

I’ll put one of my fears out there: I fear that, week after week, we pastors describe an experience of conversion that no one has. The Authorized Conversion happens when someone “asks Jesus into his heart.” The act of praying this prayer, evangelicals have taught, transfers a person from darkness to light.

    Meritocracy Through Maly’s Model

    http://bnww.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ meritocracy-through-malys-model/

While we are talking about meritocracy, I thought I’d recommend an old favorite. The author, Matthew Maly, tries to explain anti-Americanism in much of the world by critiquing the assumption of many Americans that everyone wants a “win-win society” – much the same thing as a meritocracy.

    The Uprising

    http://folkpolitics.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ the-uprising/

There’s a soon-to-be-published book generating a big buzz in the Internet. From its web site: The Uprising is a new book by New York Times bestseller David Sirota about the re-emergence of populist politics on both the Right and Left in America. The book, published by Crown, will be released on May 27th, 2008.

Evo Morales--The Chicken Becomes a Fox

    http://historygeeksblog.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ evo-morales-chicken-becomes-fox.…

The Geek has to admire a slick job when he sees one. Bolivian president Evo Morales has pulled off one super slick trick. No doubt about it. Morales, Bolivia's first Indio president has signed a recall election bill into law.

A Message from Our Founder….. May 12, 2008 …well he ain’t really but hey…I figured you’d be tired of all the yellin’ and screamin’ from Sister Beezlebub and The Precious. So…. I thought I’d shove the discussion in another direction. No, don’t thank me….it ain’t that kind of direction.

    Marriage vs. Live-In

    http://theviewspaper.net/ science/ 2008/ 05/ 3045

“Dearly beloved we have gathered here to witness the unison of this man and woman in Holy Matrimony ”…a familiar statement/dialogue( Heard it almost a 100 times in myriad Hollywood flicks and tele- series)…the bride looks beautiful and the groom generally appears happy, the setting is enchanting…But

    The Man-Made Disaster in Myanmar

    http://theviewspaper.net/ featured/ 2008/ 05/ 3043

Beggars cannot be choosers. Or could they? And that too when faced with one of the greatest disasters humanity has ever witnessed? The government of Myanmar certainly thinks this is possible and has gone all the way to prove it. With the entire country ravaged and in a dire need for aid, the despotic government seems to have different priorities.

The European dog that doesn't bark

    http://drseansdiary.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ european-dog-that-doesnt-bark.html

Yesterday sees me acting as discussant at a workshop on the Europeanization of parties in Eastern Europe at SSEES sponsored by the CEELBAS consortium, although as quickly transpires the story is actually one of non- or minimal Europeanization.
