Food stamps are issued based on the USDA's calculation of what a family of four with an annual income of $26,856 would need to eat nutritiously. AP writers, like the one who misled you all in the Tribune's May 16 article (Columbus Dispatch May 17) on Chicagoans using food stamps, say this can't be done with today's rising prices.

Make others rich
http://www.northerngraceyouthcamp.org/ thestick/ ?p=706“But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses,” (2 Corinthians 6:4 NKJV) Kids come to camp without their toys and electronics. It doesn’t matter who is poor or rich, they all have the same things and same people to play with.

My Secret (or Not so Secret) Life as a Fob
http://piecesofgrace.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 17/ my-secret-or-not-so-secret-lif…I’ll admit it. I’m a straight-up fob. When it’s time for me to look at the camera, my eyes will crinkle up into a slant (though not as slant as Disney Mulan’s eyes, which NO ASIAN has) and I’ll lift up two fingers in the spirit of being fobby.

With the ease of which we find food today, we may be robbing ourselves of the rewarding feelings that our ancestors used to get after the hunt. Gordon’s Management Style
http://www.thedazz.com/ ?p=28The television show “Kitchen Nightmares” where Gordon Ramsay spends a week with a straggling restaurant and he would try to turn in it into a success was interesting, entertaining and informative. It had many useful management tips, yet Gordon’s latest show “Hell’s Kitchen” promotes a terrible management style, dare I say, it promotes bullying in the workplace.

A decent place to live
http://fightingmonsters.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 17/ a-decent-place-to-live/I seem to have had something of a ‘home’ themed week in one way or the other, so thought I’d round it off with a few thoughts about more general housing. In one of the previous teams I worked in, we had a basic line that a lot of the situations and difficulties that were challenging to service users were created either directly or indirectly by poor housing.

Why is the Philippines poor?
http://blog.codesignstudios.com/ why-is-the-philippines-poor/Got this in my mailbox today. Apparently it is an article sent by Dr. Arsenio Martin of Fort Arthur, Texas. Enjoy reading. THE DIFFERENCE The difference between the poor countries and the rich ones is not the age of the country: This can be shown by countries like India& Egypt, that are more than 2000 years old, but are poor.

Poor People Suck At Living Like Rich People And Here’s Why:
http://inthelimelight.net/ 2008/ 05/ 16/ poor-people-suck-at-living-like-rich-pe…This evening I was surfing around and came upon a blog known as The A-hole Blog. I must admit despite not being in total agreement with the guy, his blog is living up the the name. But the beauty of it is that even though he really is a real asshole, his writing is so gloriously politically incorrect and irreverent that agreeing with the guy is not a pre-requisite for enjoying what he has to say.
