Oil pastels - intuitive art

It was fun to use them again. I also worked in watercolour (an attempt at a self portrait from my profile photo on this page), but I haven't been able to take a photo of the painting yet, maybe tomorrow.

Still too hot to draw

We brace ourselves for it in July and August. I feel like I'm being cheated out of the last few weeks of lovely Spring. I did this piece back when I was seriously into pastels (as into them then as I'm into colored pencils now).

I'm in a workshop in The Artist's Circle on Photo Manipulation , based on Angela Cartwrights book Mixed Emulsions. We've several exercises to complete , the first using markers to color the black and white image , then inks and acrylics - but I just threw out all my old markers since they had dried up.

Fire Ants and Sunshine…I Guess Its Summer!

The fire ants crawled in my canvas skimmer and bit my foot and it hurt real bad. It was my first time ever getting an ant bite-yeah, almost 16 years of going w/o an ant bite. I’m not lying.
