The Spark April 7th, 2008 Its been a while since the fellas and I have met for beer and wings at Red Sky. So I was happy when Pab and Al invited me to have a little catch up. A few beers and a lot of laughs ignited a fire inside me that seemed to have dwindled.

I enlisted the help of some friends to share experiences and ideas related to conference and unconference organizing. The hope is to kick off a conversation in which everyone — conference organizers, sponsors, participants, vendors, etc… — contributes and makes future events more smooth, successful and creative.

So I’ve been thinking a bit lately about all these new jobs in Social Media. Jobs like “Social Media Strategist,” ” Social Media Specialist,” “Social Media Producer” and “Senior Manager, Social Media.” Whatever it is isn’t important, my curiosity starts with how do you get hired for one of these jobs and what determines the qualifications.

As of this morning, I’ve opened the registration for Podcasters Across Borders 2008, affectionately called PAB2008.
