On TV Tonight: MTV True Life: I Have Schizophrenia
http://www.mentalhealthnotes.com/ 2008/ 05/ 22/ on-tv-tonight-mtv-true-life-i-ha…I don’t watch much MTV anymore. I don’t know why; I guess I’m getting old. However, from time to time something on MTV will catch my eye as I’m flipping through the channels, and I expect tonight’s episode of MTV’s “True Life” series will be one of those things.

I wish people wouldn't joke about OCD. Saying "oh, I've got a bit of OCD" to mean that you're self-conscious about being unusually particular about something isn't funny. You can be particular about a ritual. Such behaviour gives you a degree of pleasure, even if you are a bit embarrassed to admit it.

http://monicaricci.typepad.com/ monica_ricci_organizing_e/ 2008/ 05/ dr-oz-and-d…Today's Oprah was absolutely fascinating, as much as the hoarding episode with Peter Walsh. It was absolutely riveting. The episode follows six people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder as they go through a three-day OCD Boot Camp run by Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Jon Grayson, a leading OCD specialist.

http://www.healthandmen.com/ 2008/ 05/ 21/ mid-week-meltdown-what-makes-us-tick/…Everyone has their little ticks, right? The things that set you off whether you are at home or at work. I have a few I’m going to expose. You may think they are small and that I may have some obsessive compulsive disorder but what’s not a big deal to one person may be a very big deal to another and vice versa.

I'll pass...
http://www.livingoprah.com/ 2008/ 05/ ill-pass.htmlWhile I did identify with today's show about people suffering from OCD, I would never put myself through what the guests did at OCD Bootcamp. Of course, I don't have diagnosed obsessive compulsive disorder, but I do get super grossed out by germs on public transportation, hotel rooms, and buffets.

Plans gone awry
http://trappedinsideme.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 21/ plans-gone-awry/Rarely does anything go as planned for me. So I’m really not surprised my parents are only going to be gone until Sunday or Monday, rather than for two weeks as they told me. I don’t think they ever intended to be gone that long, which makes me wonder why they kept insisting they would be gone that long.

Hostess Habit #279: Pairing Authors and Books like wine and cheese
http://thehostess.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 21/ hostess-habit-279-pairing-authors…You’ll notice I didn’t mention the other 278 habits. No need to put you through that…I probably couldn’t name them all anyway…probably. I bring up this one, though, because unlike counting the coffeemaker, iron and animals numerous times, this one seems seems to be fun and helpful.
