His gritty voice, passionate singing and flashy guitar playing made him a local celebrity throughout the juke joints and plantation dances of the 1920s South.

    Remembering The Blues

    http://30daysout.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 04/ 27/ remembering-the-blues/

America’s great national music is the blues.  Without the blues, there would be no rock and roll, and no hip-hop.  The first generation of the blues masters (Robert Johnson) is pretty much the exclusive territory of college professors and fawning Brits, and latter-day giants like Muddy Waters

On the Granola Central “Now Playing” List

Steve Earle The first time I heard Steve Earle was a song he did a video for in the 80’s called Copperhead Road. It’s a cool song about meeting your maker and stuff. He looked really scruffy back then. Check out the totally 80’s video if you have a minute. Then Steve Earle disappeared from my radar until now.

    used title

    http://dougdownie.book.co.za/ 2008/ 04/ 21/ used-title/

Well here’s a conundrum: I’ve started a novel, and come up with a title I feel quite nice about (from an old Muddy Waters tune), it fits the story nicely (to the extent I know the story). Turns out a mystery novel was published a couple years ago, and a play in 1993, with the same title (I didn’t know this).

Continuing with Throwback Sundays here’s some more videos to sit back and roll a blunt to. Enjoy this cloudy day with these nostalgic videos from way back when after the jump. One of the all time greatest Jigga cuts from the 96 classic Reasonable Doubt. Still a party rocker twelve years later.
