Cache - designed with confusion in mind
http://www.reelnerds.com/ 2008/ 05/ cache-designed-with-confusion-in-mind.htmlSo, upon the recommendations of my fellow bloggers, I put Cache on my Netflix list. My new little family (girlfriend and her daughter) saw it this weekend. I think the sound "Hmmmm" fits it well. Synopsis: We open to a view of a house in Paris, for a few minutes.

Funny Games
http://www.noripcord.com/ reviews/ film/ funny-gamesFollowing its recent release in the US, Funny Games took a lot of flak from critics. Interestingly, much of the criticism of this English-language remake of director Michael Haneke’s own 1997 film of the same name focuses around the press sheet, in which the director claims that the film is an attack on the American thriller and the way it exploits violence.

Funny Games (2007)
http://weneedahobby.com/ ?p=195Missing Attachment Funny Games is the American remake of the 1997 Austrian horror film by the same title. Original writer/director Michael Haneke wrote and re-shot this one in a shot for shot remake of the original. The only difference is this cast features Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, and one of my up and coming favorites Michael Pitt.

Funny Games U.S. (2007)
http://zoller.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 04/ 20/ funny-games-us-2007/(via thedevinecomedy) Written and directed: Michael Haneke (remake) “To preserve moral decency” - Paul It was a controversial movie. A controversial movie on a personal level as well, but let’s not mention this aspect. I’ve waited for it quite long. I am a Naomi Watts fan and the original was extremely good.

“Funny Games” Review
http://entertainmentjunkie.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 04/ 20/ funny-games-review/“Funny Games” is German director Michael Haneke’s remake of his own 1997 film of the same title. It stars Michael Pitt and Brady Corbert as two seriously deranged young men who take a family (Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, and a fierce little child actor named Devon Gearhart) physically and mentally hostage for twelve hours at their summer cabin.

Thoughts on Funny Games
http://thecuriousnatureofthings.com/ post/ 32158810Thoughts on Funny Games It’s very strange that Haneke remade Funny Games, as a “shot for shot” remake no less. The actors have been swapped but most of the rest remains the same, and while I really loved the original, I had to keep reminding myself of that very fact to properly appreciate the new version.

Jeffrey M. Anderson's 400 Screens, 400 Blows - His Blueberry Nights

I've been thinking about the largely negative response to Wong Kar-wai's My Blueberry Nights (6 screens), a film I quite liked.

Jeffrey M. Anderson’s 400 Screens, 400 Blows - His Blueberry Nights
http://movieclerks.com/ 2008/ 04/ 17/ jeffrey-m-andersons-400-screens-400-blows-…Filed under: Columns, 400 Screens, 400 Blows I’ve been thinking about the largely negative response to Wong Kar-wai’s My Blueberry Nights (6 screens), a film I quite liked. As of today it’s at 43% on Rotten Tomatoes, though it opens wider this weekend (including here in the Bay Area) and more reviews are surely coming in.
