Short Takes + Weekend Shows Not Animal is the version of the new Margot and the Nuclear So and So's album that their label Epic wants them to release. Basically the band and the label disagreed on which version of the new record to release, so in order to please both sides we are going to get both versions.

On October 7th, Epic will release not one, but two new Margot & The Nuclear So and So’s records. The first, entitled Animal, is the version of the album that the band stands behind and wanted released. The kicker is that the second record, Not Animal!, is a collection of songs from the album recording sessions that the label prefers over the band’s choice of tunes.

Pitchfork has a pretty exhaustive list of what's coming down the pike in the next three months. Here are a handful that are piquing my interest in one way or another. I will post here at The Impatient Blogger™, about whatever random bee flies up my butt on any given day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sometimes I may not post because I do have a life outside of the computer, believe it or not.

When you pick up twenty-five albums in three months, it's inevitable that some percentage of them will disappoint, if not outright suck. For me, these six albums let me down, and/or have almost completely evaporated from my memory. Most disappointing were My Morning Jacket and Pas/Cal, both albums I was looking forward to and had high hopes for.
