   iSkin: Protecting the Products we Love

   Recently, I received a box in the mail with a few iSkin products to play with. It’s been a few days or so now so I figured it was time for me to post my thoughts on the ones I got to experiment with. All in all, I am very impressed with most of the products I have seen over at iskin.com.

   The Axiotron modbook is cool, I gotta admit, but with so many rumors of a MacBook Touch due this fall, I suspect that potential buyers might be holding their breath. But, on the other hand, those people have been waiting for a Mac tablet since Jobs killed the Newton, and rumors of a tablet are hardly unusual — see 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008.

   I’m disappointed in Apple.  I really am. I bought my Macbook Pro (a refurb because I was broke) in September of last year.  My original warranty had nearly worn out when I started having problems with my graphics card, the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT.  First the screen started to go funny blocks of colour.  Then I occasionally had trouble getting the display working from sleep.

   Apple is hosting an event called “Let’s Rock” on Tuesday, September 9th, 2008. Macheads are waiting with their usual bated breath to see what Steve Jobs and the folks at Apple have up their sleep for this event.
