REVIEW: "Never So Good"
http://roguezentradi.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ review-never-so-good.htmlOnly a master actor like Jeremy Irons could turn a Tory prime minister of lesser regard into a cuddly benevolent - and yet it works so well. Told as an autobiographical reflection, Never So Good starts as a young Harold Macmillan leaves for the first World War after being expelled from Eton for buggery.

may 2008
http://harrietbedford.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 04/ may-2008/Dust, Fabric and Brass. It is with great sadness that I report to those few who read this and haven’t yet heard (with honesty, it’s not going to be many of you) that Humphrey Lyttleton died recently, aged too damned old. I am particularly upset about this. Linda Smith’s death hit me in an odd sort of way.

Liquor in the front, Poker in the rear
http://www.quintessentialcomedy.com/ 2008/ 04/ 30/ liquor-in-the-front-poker-in-…The loss of Humphrey Lyttleton recently has prompted the BBC website Magazine to splash out on a quick appreciation on the art of innuendo. And it’s not before time, either - I’ve been literally begging for something fruity to get my hands on, with the majority of the content here being about as much use as a whore in a waxworks.

Jimmy Giuffre
http://colinwill.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 04/ jimmy-giuffre.htmlJust heard about the death of Jimmy Giuffre. Coming on the heels of Humph's death, it's a good time to remember the very different contributions these men made to jazz. Apprentice has two clips of Humph, and here's my tribute to Jimmy Giuffre.

Life and Death
http://www.quintessentialcomedy.com/ 2008/ 04/ 29/ life-and-death/Nice to see Kris Marshall is recovering from his recent accident - following the sad loss of Humphrey Lyttleton last week I was a little reluctant to wish him well in case this very blog had some sort of curse attached to it.

Remembering Humph (1921-2008)
http://bishopalan.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 04/ remembering-humph-1921-2008.htmlEvery now and then these islands produce a world class national treasure — William Shakespeare, Nelson, Queen Victoria, Monty Python and the late Queen Mum spring to mind. There in the background, however, through all those years has been Humphrey Lyttleton.

Humphrey Lyttelton
http://journals.aol.co.uk/ minocool/ life-the-universe-and-everything/ entries/ …I am not going to even attempt to write an obituary for Humphrey Lyttleton. All I will say is that we have lost a national treasure with his passing: possibly one that shall never be replaced. My musical tastes are best described as eclectic, but jazz was something that I only dabbled in.
