Did you know that La Paz is surrounded by not only beautiful white sand beaches and calm blue sea waters but also mountains? Hiking, mountain biking and camping opportunities in and around the area are endless! The local beaches provide an excellent backdrop for camping with those near the city offering more services.

Yesterday we visited the lagoon again, trying to find some answers and hoping for good news. We were not expecting this at all. We found the fish that two days before were struggling for air. They were dead. Some of them at the bottom, some of them on the shore.

A couple of days ago we woke up to a funny smell in the air... something a bit 'fishy'. It was strange until we saw the news: They found almost 2 Tons of dead fish. Where??? The lagoon Tommy and I have been visiting!!! If you are a regular reader, it is the one on the post about a Sunday afternoon and also the one with ducks 'reading' the signs.

In a previous post I mocked the Echo and The Bunnymen website, which announced news of their gig in La Laguna with the headline ‘Echo and the Sunnymen’. La Laguna in April, sunny? Yeah right. And then along came the calima and probably the hottest weekend that La Laguna is likely to see this year.

You know it’s calima when… the temperature cranks up into the red zone, the sun turns white and Mount Teide disappears from the horizon to be replaced by a white veil behind which shapes ghost in and out.

The hypermarket chain Alcampo may be facing a €600,000 fine if the ruling of the High court of Justice of the Canaries (TSJC) is confirmed. The ruling declared that a local authority licence which was obtained by the French multinational company to extend their Los Majuelos site in Santa Cruz , is null and void.

Fucking faggots!  What, where’d that come from? Umm, let’s see.   Okay, I was working on the Arroyo de la Laguna in Pleasanton, California several months ago and had the chance to go to the Tech Museum in San Jose. It’s pretty good —  it’s a great place to take the kids.
