But I do recall one Asian kid who gave me a hard time for being "smart" once in eighth grade.

The kids in my neighborhood!! Two boys had to have been 12/13 years old, not real sure because I don't know many of the people that live in this neighborhood. Anyway they had taken a kid that was probably 10/11 years old held him over a wooden fence a proceeded to butt hump him.

Okay, I was watching the news today and they had a segment about a mother who decided to give her daughter growth hormone injections because she was short. She was teased apparently by other children, which in itself is wrong but it happens.  I’m sorry but I do have a problem with this.

How many times have I said, “If I only knew then what I know now … ” Jessie and I had a long talk yesterday afternoon about some of the kids in her class. She’s like any kid and gets the normal bit of teasing from the class clown who likes to poke at anyone and everyone within yelling distance, and outside of the bullying incidents, they’ve been nothing big.

What would you do if you found out that a little girl was telling your child, “His name is Obama bin Laden” and, “It’s not Hilary—it’s Hitlery”? A writer on the blog Daily Kos, who is one of few Democrats in a Texan town, was faced with this dilemma when her eight-year-old daughter Abigail reported that one of her classmates was repeatedly making these comments.

Is this a familiar experience to you, as a parent? - Your child starts behaving strange when he or she sees another familiar child. Either your child gets intimidated or offensive. Welcome to the world of bullying among children. It is not new; has been going on since we can think of.

This week, I have been up at Harvard University participating in another meeting of the Internet Safety Technical Task Force (ISTTF), of which I am a member. The ISTTF was organized earlier this year pursuant to an agreement between 49 state attorneys general (AGs) and social networking giant MySpace.com.

Bullying continues to be a concern with parents and what their children can endure from other kids and now that school is here, it can start again. It is important to help your child understand that Bullying is not accepted and can potentially end up harming others not only emotionally - sometimes psychically.
