Thanksgiving is next week? Wow, that snuck up on me. If Thanksgiving is next week that means Christmas is right around the corner. With Christmas decorations, music and commercials going up right after Halloween, Thanksgiving gets lost and that is a shame because it is a great holiday and you and your kids can make crafts for your home or for gifts for your guests.

Here in New York it’s getting pretty chilly. Personally I don’t mind the cold, but now that I have a rambunctious toddler I’m desperately searching for indoor activities that will get us through the winter. This mini golf set might be the perfect occupier that also unleashes some energy.

Today was too wet for a trip to the park or any other outdoor entertainment, so when the natives started to get restless, out came the useful box (a la Playschool) for some rainy day craft. I am always throwing bits & pieces into this box; icy pole sticks, used met cards, fabric scraps, plastic bottle caps & of course toilet rolls, just to give you an idea.

Prima Princessa DVD Having fond memories of my own years as a "ballerina," I couldn't wait to get my own little girl in a tutu. Coincidentally, the same week that the Prima Princessa DVD arrived, my daughter received a tutu as a gift from a family member, and so naturally we put both on together to prepare for her first ballet lesson.

The Magical World of Bella Sara Since my own children are a bit young to test drive the world of Bella Sara, a interactive trading card game, I recruited two tween girls on my Cool Baby Kid team to try them out. Both really enjoyed entering the special codes found on the trading cards, navigating through the magical world "North of North," and caring for their virtual horses.

It might be the best-known park in Paris, but it is one of our favourite places to go. You cannot get a more Parisian park than the Luxembourg Gardens. It is so much fun, even as an adult, to rent one of the little sailboats in the main fountain of the garden and push it around with a stick.  Most of the time it capsizes or collides with another boat, but that is part of the fun!
