Last weekend I went to the beach with my family and we got incredibly lucky with the weather. Sunny and 75 degrees both days! If you’ve ever been to the Oregon Coast, you know that doesn’t happen all that often. This was one of my favorite shots from the trip and of course, I ran it through PhotoTools.

Photography podcast #52 features an interview with photographer Kevin Kubota. Kevin is probably most well known for his photoshop actions but he is also a wedding as well as a fine art photographer. In this interview we talk about Kevin’s work, his gear, and his workflow.

Okay, I realize that “Vibrant” is typically a term used to describe a color image and not a black and white one, but in this case, I’ve combined one of Kevin Kubota’s Vibrant effects with one of my favorite black and white conversions by Jack Davis. The result is a new Vibrant Black and White preset for PhotoTools Professional Edition.

A little over a month ago, I posted a free PhotoTools preset called Radiant Spring for everyone to download. It was primarily for enhancing a landscape shot that contained a lot of green colors. Now, I’ve got another one called Radiant Landscape Velvia and I really like it.
