I must have been in grade 11. The object – no, not an object, the girl -- of my affection worked part-time at the local Kentucky Fried Chicken in Brantford, Ontario (that’s in Canada). We’d meet after work, and ever since, the Colonel’s secret spices have held a special place.

OK, I was going to let this go, but this commercial from KFC touting its $10 challenge just irritates me. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can view here: KFC $10 Challenge Promo Maybe I dislike this commercial because it actually worked to the extent that my nine year old asked if we could have KFC for dinner because it would save money.

KFC suppliers cram birds into huge waste-filled factories, breed and drug them to grow so large that they can’t even walk, and often break their wings and legs. At slaughter, the birds’ throats are slit and they are dropped into tanks of scalding-hot water—often while they are still conscious.

Activist groups love to denounce YUM Brands’ KFC for everything from not killing delicious chickens more politely before we eat them, to making us fat after we eat them. Let’s see if anyone gives KFC a little credit for immediately lashing out against the racist propaganda called “Obama Bucks”

Got this from a friend who knows I am a fan of the real KFC. It’s said to be a restaurant in China that imitates the famous franchise, but it’s very likely that this is a doctored photo… and that the restaurant didn’t exist.
