As part of Mondesi's House Readers Rule Week, I was invited to answer the Pittsburgh-centric questions listed below. I think that this will be posted on the site sometime Tuesday (update: it has been posted; click on the link above), but I wanted to share my responses here anyway.1.

July began with me not feeling well. I was aching from head to toe. There was no cold or sneezing, just a deep congested cough coming straight from my chest. I knew immediately the weather in June made a home in my lungs with bronchitis. An appointment with my doctor and a chest x-ray on the 15th confirmed it.

I post because I can. Ever have so much stuff on your mind you can't think straight? That's what's going on in my head so today I'm just going to ramble (like I do most times). The powers that be at my job decided to give me one day off during the week, today. Decided to take the children to Kennywood, a local amusement park.

Current Mood: Surprisedheyyy it feels like I haven’t been on this computer in like forever. !! That’s because I’ve been staying at my boyfriends house all this week. He just moved back home from living with me.

Originally uploaded by onewomanshow I’m looking at the date as I type this – and wow, is it already the end of July? Where did the month go? If we use my rounding up strategy, we’re practically into October. Yikes! Let’s make a deal and not round up.

Amongst leading experts, it is widely acknowledged that education must take place both inside and outside of the classroom. The role of the local school system is to teach children critical historical facts, such as the time George Washington lured enemy Frenchmen and Native Americans to an arts festival at the Point on a particularly rainy day during the French and Indian War.

Built in the 1880s, Kennywood Park has offered families in the Pittsburgh region joy and amusement for well over a century. And while the park does a great job of creating new attractions that keep us spellbound, it also hasn't forgotten its roots.
