Allmendinger a Part-Timer in 2009? A.J. Allmendinger, recently aced out of his Red Bull ride by Scott Speed (presumably), has landed at Michael Waltrip Racing. Dinger has been handed the keys to the #00 for this weekends event at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Bowyer and Wallace got to practice their burnouts and their launches under the tutelage of NHRA champions Dave Connolly and Jeggie Coughlin.

Bowyer and Wallace got to practice their burnouts and their launches under the tutelage of NHRA champions Dave Connolly and Jeggie Coughlin.

The battle for the starting free safety position — which was set up on draft day — ended in Detroit, when rookie Kenny Phillips proved he could translate his scintillating practice form to live action.  The contrast between Phillips’s dazzling performance and Michael Johnson’s touchdown-allowing
