New Format / Layout Archived in the category: by El Jefe Posted by chicano on 13 May 08 - 0 Comments Over the last few months, Chicanonews has gotten a bit stale (i think).  So I’ve decided to mix things up.  I also decided it was time for a change of “style” as well.  I plan to put up less content,

    My Mother's Day Present

I think El Jefe and the girls bought this as much for them as for me. But I'm not complaining! We tried it out and it works very well for a non-commercial size margarita machine. But we weren't happy with the mix we used and are looking for something better.

    http://johnozed.com/ ?p=2151

Monkberry Moon Delight May 5th, 2008 Last night was great. Nice and quiet, no visitors, not that I mind visitors. My body clock was awry most of the weekend after tying more than one on Friday night.

    El Jefe Reforms

    http://quotidiangrace.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 04/ el-jefe-reforms.html

Back when Bush the Elder was Prez, there was a minor flap over a visit he made to a grocery store. Bush 41 was ridiculed for not being familiar with the scanning systems at the check-out counter. Ahem. That could have been El Jefe. About the same time as that story ran in the media, I had some minor surgery.

    TMI Department: Weather Division

Ever since Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, it seems to me that our local television weatherpersons have decided that they can't give us too much information or too many dire warnings about the weather. If there's any possibility of severe weather they deluge us with constant warnings and alerts.

There is satisfaction, for me, in being the acknowleged "go to" person in our department; I like to help people, and I feel good when I can be of help. But it can be a double-edged sword of interruptions and inconvenience and aggravation, too.

On Our To-Do List: Fidel Castro

    http://www.nerve.com/ CS/ blogs/ scanner/ archive/ 2008/ 02/ 22/ on-our-to-do-li…

Fidel Castro may be stepping down, but he's still standing erect. Whether you love him or hate him, we can all agree on one thing about Castro: El Jefe Has Got STAMINA. His speeches go on for hours and hours. His long, thick cigar is always lit. His revolution is constant and anything but predictable.
