The History of RPGs: A Reading List [Academia Is Fun]

    http://kotaku.com/ 5009565/ the-history-of-rpgs-a-reading-list

We mentioned Michael Abbot (of the Brainy Gamer) and his efforts to put together a great syllabus for his history of RPGs class; as promised, he's now posted the reading list (required readings will be culled from this list, but it's a pretty nice little bibliography for background reading).

Wow, another Lopez baby is on the way! Something is definitely in the water in celebrity land! Yup, another Lopez baby - but it's Jennifer's sister, Lynda Lopez (aka Ly-Lo), a news anchor, who's expecting this time. She showed off her new baby bump at a Christian Dior party in NY on Monday.

Baby Steps Lead Down the Path Too

    http://writeoussisterspeaks.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 18/ baby-steps-lead-down-th…

While reading a sohbet of my tariqa’s GrandShaykh, I found these eloquent words: “If a man is not looking after himself and becomes ill and then says: what can I do, it is Allah’s will - he is wrong. You can protect yourself.

Will Survivor survive The Moment of Truth?

    http://www.tvsquad.com/ 2008/ 05/ 18/ will-survivor-survive-the-moment-of-truth/…

Filed under: Other Reality Shows, Programming, Survivor, RatingsNow that the upfronts have been presented, it's time to start handicapping the ratings (although Jeff Zucker doesn't think Nielsens matter that much anymore). Nevertheless, some are looking at next fall's schedule and predicting a big-time battle royale on Thursday night at 8 o'clock.

    Mind Games For Bad Girls

    http://mkfreeberg.webloggin.com/ mind-games-for-bad-girls/

Hmmm, in my single days I didn’t see any of this. Except for #1…and #2…and #3…and…and… …come to think if it, I’d say that bit about sending herself flowers is the only one that would’ve been a first.

    Good Punctuation Is Essential, Robin.

    http://ozandends.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ good-punctuation-is-essential-robin.htm…

Some Oz and Readers might have assumed (or hoped) that PUNCTUATION WEEK would mean skipping a weekly Robin installment. But comics have punctuation, too. In fact, popular American comics have developed their own system of punctuation and typography, related to but not conforming to the standards for prose.

Pinhole Camera Photographer is Crazed Cyclist

    http://www.treehugger.com/ files/ 2008/ 05/ pinhole-camera-photograper_.php

While visiting the Union Square farmers' market I noticed an interesting display of small photographs, set up in front of an odd looking bicycle. Photographer Michel Bayard shoots with pinhole cameras, saying "now that digital is here, there isn't much point in using regular cameras anymore" and pedals his wares to market on an xtracycle converted bike.
