    Filler Post

    http://valeriemorrison.net/ blog/ filler-post/

I’m tired of looking at that week old post just like you, so I’m throwing in a filler.  Maybe S.A.D.1 has come early for me this year.  Right now, I would be quite content curling up in a dark cave and taking a long nap. Of course, my sleep pattern is off.  When I go to bed at 10:00 p.m., getting up the next morning is a struggle.

Freaky, fleshy concept toy that you can pierce

    http://newsclick.biz/ node/ 113649

Wired Gadget Lab calls the "Epidermits" toy from Karten Design the "scariest toy concept ever," and they make a great case for it! I couldn't find the actual toy on Karten's site, because, like so many "designers," they've designed and unnavigable unlinkable mess of Flash instead of a real website.

    http://www.kittymowmow.com/ 2008/ 09/ 09/ bat-discovery-cancels-cave-tour/

The tours give the public a peek into the caves located at Sequiota Park, 3500 S. Lone Pine Ave., typically in the fall and spring.

Ikaria Developing Drug For “Hibernation-on-Demand,” Could Pull Off Biggest Biotech IPO Ever, VC Says

    http://www.xconomy.com/ seattle/ 2008/ 09/ 02/ ikaria-developing-drug-for-hibern…

Biotech, Hibernation on Demand, Ikaria Holdings Luke Timmerman wrote: Hibernation-on-demand is one of those enduring concepts of science fiction. If you can slow down breathing, heartbeat, and other metabolic functions without going too far and suffocating people, you could possibly send them on long voyages into space.

No, I’m not quiting my blogs or websites (5 and counting…).  I just wanted to mark the passage of time.  We northwesterners tend to go into hibernation each fall.  Sure, you might catch a glimpse of us during the fall ArtsWalk (I’ll be showing paintings at Wind Up Here) or out on the town during the

    Hibernation

    http://tesstermulo.com/ 2008/ 08/ 26/ hibernation/

I want to go somewhere far, far away, even for just a few days.  To detox.  To be with myself.  To think of nobody else but myself. I’ll be packing light.  Bring the laptop and the camera, and the cellphone (which I’ll put in silent mode all throughout my hibernation).  Then maybe a shirt or two,
