Obama Cuts the Gordian Knot In Denver
http://thestrangedeathofliberalamerica.com/ obama-cuts-the-gordian-knot-in-denve…The most remarkable part of the remarkable speech Barack Obama delivered in Denver last night was that he truly offered a real possibility of cutting the Gordian Knot that has become Washington politics. For decades now, not matter what the issue both sides have dug in and waged protracted trench warfare.

Why I Don’t Want United Government
http://www.positiveliberty.com/ 2008/ 08/ why-i-dont-want-united-government.htmlThe Democrats are likely to expand their lead in the House and the Senate. Obama is running a Great Society liberal’s campaign. Uniting both ends of Pennsylvania Ave. would be bad. Gridlock is good. Until Obama flip-flopped on the FISA vote, and it became apparent the Democrats didn’t understand the need to stop their silly oil drilling ban, I liked Obama better than McCain.

Wither Gridlock? Gridlock is my best hope for our federal elections- President of one party, Congress of another, they fight like cats and dogs and actually ponder some of the legislation before it sails through, jacking up our deficit. I don't think it's going to work out that way.

Heller was, for the last decade, been working to introduce a bit of balance into the discussion down stream from the idea that goes by the name “Tragedy of the Commons.” He originally called his idea “The Tragedy of the Anticommons.” Those who public

California's Budget Caught In Political Gridlock
http://northloop.14gram.com/ californias-budget-caught-political-gridlockThe state budget in California is already more than four weeks late, and there's no sign of a break in the impasse between Republican and Democratic lawmakers. The budget is nearly always late in California, but this year the deficit is bigger, the stakes are higher and the threats of new cuts are more dire than ever before.

“Our federal approach to transportation is broken”
http://www.tripso.com/ today/ our-federal-approach-to-transportation-is-broken/America’s transportation network is broken. Now what? Transportation Secretary Mary Peters thinks she has the answer. Late yesterday, she unveiled a new plan to “refocus, reform and renew” the national approach to highway and transit systems. “Without a doubt, our federal approach to transportation is broken,” Peters said in a prepared statement.

Take Away My Gridlock? Gridlock. It's my only hope for limiting the otherwise rampant growth of government. Talk of eliminating it is talk of taking away my one last realistic hope for the 2008 elections at the federal level. We saw how destructive and government-growing one party rule was under a nominally 'smaller government' party.
